Tackling cancer head-on is easier with support
Patient, families, caregivers and community support programs
Being sick sucks. But a bit of support can make tackling cancer head-on a lot easier. As well as funding innovative research projects and cancer prevention campaigns, your money also helps to make the day-to-day life of people with cancer and the people who love them easier.
Here’s some of the programs your support helps to fund:
Regional cancer support programs
Having cancer is terrible for anyone, but people living in regional communities often do it even harder. Access to treatment can often mean travel away from home and local support can be limited. That’s why on every tour, we donate $10,000 to local cancer support projects and hold community dinners.
We also help to fund things like transport costs and other day-to-day expenses for regional people living with cancer, to make accessing treatment easier, as well as respite care and holidays to help families unwind, reconnect and recharge during and after treatment.
Grief support
We believe a cure for cancer is out there. But we’ve not reached it yet.
This means if you need help with ways to manage your grief after the loss of a loved one to cancer, you’re not alone.
One of the resources we have to help is the information kit, Grieving – Surviving to Thriving. As well as information for people who are grieving, it also contains tips and suggestions for people to support their grieving friends and family members.
