Supporting those with cancer

Facing cancer is easier together

That’s why we fund a range of cancer support programs

There’s no getting around the fact that being diagnosed with cancer sucks. Going through treatment and facing what can be a scary and uncertain time is pretty rubbish. We can’t take away all the negative things that people experiencing cancer go through, but we can try to make things easier.

Dealing with a cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment can have a terrible physical, emotional and financial toll – both on the person with cancer and their families. That’s why we fund cancer support programs to help give people strategies to cope, practical help through treatment, respite care and financial support.

Support for all stages of the cancer journey

Tackling cancer head-on with clear information and solid support is so important. We take a multi-pronged approach to providing support for you, your loved ones and your community, no matter what type of cancer you have or the stage of treatment you are at.This includes:

Regional cancer support programs

Having cancer is terrible for anyone, but people living in regional communities often do it even harder. Access to treatment can often mean travel away from home and local support can be limited. That’s why on every tour, we donate $10,000 to local cancer support projects and hold community dinners.

We also help to fund things like transport costs and other day-to-day expenses for regional people living with cancer, to make accessing treatment easier, as well as respite care and holidays to help families unwind, reconnect and recharge during and after treatment.

Grief support

We believe a cure for cancer is out there. But we’ve not reached it yet.

This means if you need help with ways to manage your grief after the loss of a loved one to cancer, you’re not alone.

One of the resources we have to help is the information kit, Grieving – Surviving to Thriving. As well as information for people who are grieving, it also contains tips and suggestions for people to support their grieving friends and family members.
