Cycling support tips for our riders
If you want to join a Tour de Cure cycle, but you’re worried if your riding is good enough, we’re here to tell you to relax. No matter what your skill level, you’re welcome on our tours.
When you sign up for a tour, our trainers and mentors at an organised training ride will assess your skills and fitness to allocate you a rider level. These levels are designed to help you plan your training, any skills you want to focus on, and to partner you with riders of a similar level to ensure everyone is having a good time.
Far more important than your cycle ability is your drive to help raise funds to cure cancer! Our volunteers, ride leaders and mentors are all there to help you increase your skill and help you so that you’ll be comfortable on tour. We’ll support you to ride safely and enjoy being part of the group.
Learn how to ride on the road
If you’re new to road cycling, there’s a lot to adjust to. Joining one of our training groups is a great idea, or if you’re training alone, check out our rider and road etiquette guide for some helpful advice.
Boost your cycling skills
Our friends at GCN have produced a series of videos to help with your cycling skills
Fuel your body for riding and recovery
With long days on the road on tour and when training, it’s important to make sure you’re eating well for both riding and recovery.
Compliment your training with strength and Yoga workouts
Or get virtual support
If your schedule won’t let you join rides with a training squad, you don’t need to train alone. Using Strava, we’ve put together virtual training squads so you can ride virtually with your Tour de Cure crew.
