Why I want to help cure cancer

It has impacted many people I know and love. I have relatives and friends who have died from cancer and others that have recovered so I would like do my bit to see a cure in my lifetime.

I was inspired to do the Tour after a couple of friends, Bennett Powell and Melinda Cockshutt, did their first Tour. Bennett Powell has cerebral Palsy and an intellectual disability, yet he has completed two Ironman Triathlons and much more. He loves being around fit and active people and helping others. Melinda’s daughter was born in the 1970s and the chances of her surviving her childhood cancer were minimal, but today she is a fit and active 15-year-old.

I also want to do this tour with my wife and a whole bunch of our friends who are joining us.
