Vision, Mission and Values
Vision
Tour de Cure's vision is to be the leading cycling tour foundation in Australia by December 2010.
Mission
Tour de Cure's mission is to raise funds to help find a cure for cancer. It's more than just cycling - it's about finding a cure for cancer.
Values
We operate with the values of T.D.C:
Tour de Cure's values guide the way that we behave along the journey to achieving our vision and mission. They are;
-
T . . . TRUST
-
D . . . DOER
-
C . . . COLLABORATION
Value 1 - Trust
Trust is the most important value to have when being a Tour de Cure team member.
- Trust that each team member will raise their $10,000 fund-raising target
- Trust each team member will do the preparation and training for the tour,
- Trust Tour de Cure as a foundation will deliver upon what we say we are going to deliver.

Value 2 - Doer
Every team member must have a ‘can-do attitude'. It's about wanting to do more and being part of a team.
- How can I help?
- What can I do?
- What else can I do?
Value 3 - Collaboration
Collaboration is a value that binds Tour de Cure members.

Day 6, Tour de Cure 2008 - working to get all us up the last few hills
As a team we ;
- Dream together;
- Work together;
- Achieve together and
- Celebrate together.
We're not just a group of bike riders - we are a team of people that will keep riding until a cure for cancer is found!
Trust Definition
The value trust is internal between the riders, support crew and board. Trust is also required with our external relationships- our corporate partners, the charities we distribute to and the people that donate to us.
The different elements of trust that we rely on are as follows:
Financial- we trust that each member of the team will raise the committed amounts. People that donate to us trust that we are being responsible with that money and that the money will get to the charities.
Training- we all are going to be fit enough to complete the ride- and then the over's of being alert at all times and being able to continue the cause at lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, toilet stop.
Safety - obviously we need to trust each and everyone that we will all make the distance safely and enjoyably.
Our corporates and our private donators need to be confident in that Tour de Cure makes a difference- as I say to everyone that donates to me- "it's a great cause, but it's one that IS making a difference!"
Trust in the brand Tour de Cure- confidence in the brand, integrity of the brand, transparency of the brand and the dependence that our charities will come to have of us because of our continued work.
We are the vehicle that creates the donations and then take those donations to where they need to go.
Also trust that this event costs money to run and for everyone, every dollar counts because those dollars might go directly to the charity, or that dollar might get us from Melbourne to Sydney to create more dollars for the charity

Day of Inspiration - Event
On top of our annual cycling tour Tour de Cure manage 'A Day of Inspiration... Secrets of Achievement'.
This is a one-day annual event where you can hear from the best in their field. At previous Days, Olympians, forensic scientists, extreme sport record holders, doctors, entrepreneurs and entertainers have all lent their insights and experiences.
All speakers and external management donate their time so that proceeds from ticket sales can be given to Tour de Cure.
